How a foldable magnetic rigid box is built

A rigid magnetic box whose walls are hinged so the box ships and stores flat. It is set up by folding the walls up; magnets or ribbons hold the shape.

Putting it together

  2. 2Raise the walls until the corners lock.
  3. 3Close the magnetic lid.

When to choose it

For premium e-commerce gifts where shipping a made-up rigid box would cost too much. It looks like a book box once set up but travels flat.

Before you print

  • Hinge lines need a small gap between boards; allow it in the wrap artwork.
  • Wraps need about 15 to 20 mm turn-in over the edges; supply artwork with that margin.
  • Lead times are longer than folding cartons because wrapping is partly manual.
