How a one-piece folder is built

A one-piece folder: a single sheet that wraps around a flat product, folding up from a central base with side and end panels that overlap and lock or tape.

Putting it together

  1. 1Place the product on the base.
  2. 2Fold the long sides over.
  3. 3Fold the ends up and tuck or tape them closed.

Measuring for this style

Length (L)
The length of the product it wraps.
Width (W)
The width of the product.
Height (H)
The thickness of the product.

All sizes are inside dimensions. Add 1 to 2 mm of clearance around the product. How to measure

When to choose it

For books, calendars, frames and other flat items shipped by post. For deeper items choose a roll-end mailer; for rolled prints choose a triangular postal tube.

Before you print

  • Corrugated adds thickness: the outside is about two board thicknesses larger than the inside on every axis.
  • Leave a few millimetres of room for wrapping paper or tissue.
