How a pillow box is built

A single sheet with two main panels and a glue strip. Each end is closed by curved creases: pressing the curved flaps in pinches the ends closed and makes the soft pillow shape. No dust flaps and no tucks.

Putting it together

  1. 1Open the glued sleeve.
  2. 2Press one curved end in along its creases until it closes.
  3. 3Load the product and press the second end closed.

Measuring for this style

Length (L)
The width of one main panel across the front.
Width (W)
How thick the pillow opens in the middle, at its deepest point.
Height (H)
The height of the panel between the two curved ends.

All sizes are inside dimensions. Add 1 to 2 mm of clearance around the product. How to measure

When to choose it

For light, flat gifts such as jewellery, gift cards and scarves. For anything heavy or tall choose a tuck carton.

Before you print

  • Curved creases need a scoring rule that follows the curve; confirm your converter can score curves.
  • Thick board cracks on tight curves; 18 pt SBS or kraft folds most cleanly.
