How a reverse tuck end is built

The same four-panel glued tube as a straight tuck end, but the top closure hinges from the back panel and the bottom closure from the front panel, so the two tucks close in opposite directions. Folder-gluers handle it quickly, which keeps unit costs low.

Putting it together

  1. 1Square the flat carton into a tube.
  2. 2Close the bottom: dust flaps in, then the front-hinged bottom flap with its tongue.
  3. 3Load the product.
  4. 4Close the top: dust flaps in, then the back-hinged top flap with its tongue.

Measuring for this style

Length (L)
The inside width of the front panel, left to right.
Width (W)
The inside depth from front to back: the width of a side panel.
Height (H)
The inside height from the base to the top opening.

All sizes are inside dimensions. Add 1 to 2 mm of clearance around the product. How to measure

When to choose it

The most economical tuck carton for light products such as vitamins, cosmetics and small electronics. If the front must be completely free of cut edges choose a straight tuck end instead.

Before you print

  • Dust flaps must clear each other across the opening; very narrow, deep cartons need shorter flaps.
  • Friction locks (small slits at the tuck shoulders) stop the lid springing open; ask for them on light products.
  • Keep text and logos 3 mm inside every crease so folding does not crack the print.
