How a roll-end tuck front mailer is built

A one-piece corrugated mailer (FEFCO 0427 style): a base, double side walls that roll over for strength, a back wall and a lid with a front tuck and two dust flaps. Locking ears on the side walls hold it shut.

Putting it together

  1. 1Fold the front wall up and roll its inner part inside.
  2. 2Fold the side walls up and roll them over, pushing the ears into the slots.
  3. 3Load the product, fold the lid over and tuck the front flap in.

Measuring for this style

Length (L)
The inside length of the base, side to side.
Width (W)
The inside depth of the base, front to back.
Height (H)
The inside height of the walls once the lid is closed.

All sizes are inside dimensions. Add 1 to 2 mm of clearance around the product. How to measure

When to choose it

The standard e-commerce and subscription mailer: strong, no tape, and a good unboxing. For a quick-close return option choose a peel-and-seal mailer.

Before you print

  • The inner rolled walls are shorter by about 1.5 board thicknesses so they sit under the lid.
  • Corrugated adds thickness: the outside is about two board thicknesses larger than the inside on every axis.
