How a shoulder & neck box is built

Three parts: a base tray, a lid, and an inner neck (collar) glued inside the base that stands above it. The lid rests on the shoulder, leaving a visible band of the base.

The inside height of the closed box. Lids and wraps are sized from it with board allowances.

When to choose it

For perfume, spirits and luxury gifts where the opening moment matters. For a simpler lift-off lid choose a two-piece rigid box.

Before you print

  • Rigid boxes are made from 1.5 to 3 mm greyboard wrapped in printed paper; they do not fold flat after making.
  • Wraps need about 15 to 20 mm turn-in over the edges; supply artwork with that margin.
  • Lead times are longer than folding cartons because wrapping is partly manual.
